Romain Bonenfant has an in-depth knowledge of the telecommunications industry. Working as a diplomat in the French Permanent Representation to the EU, he was involved in the negotiations of EU telecom legislative proposals on behalf of the French government.
Romain also headed the directorate in charge of broadband and ultrafast broadband networks at the national regulatory authority for telecoms (ARCEP). As an example, he conducted a review of the regulatory framework for fixed access and contributed to complement the rules for fibre-to-the-home (FttH) access.
Romain most recently served as an advisor to the French Prime Minister on industrial affairs; he had to deal with major telecom issues, including the national ultrafast broadband strategy and merger projects.
